A transmission rebuild means more than swapping in a new unit. Here’s what happens on our bench, using photos of real units we’ve rebuilt.
Tell us what it’s doing — slipping, shifting hard, noises, lights. A short video helps. Ask about towing if it isn’t drivable.
We scan, road-test, and check fluid and pressures to find the real cause. Sometimes it’s a sensor or valve body — not a whole transmission.
You get the findings, your options (repair, rebuild, or used unit), the price, and a realistic timeline before we touch it.
Torn down, cleaned, inspected, and rebuilt with new frictions, seals, and updated parts — then air-checked before it goes back in.
We road-test, re-check for leaks, and hand you written warranty terms with your keys.
We scan for codes, road-test, and check fluid condition and line pressure. Many shifting problems come from a solenoid, a valve body, a sensor, or the torque converter. We tell you when the whole transmission doesn’t need to come out.
If a rebuild is the right repair, the transmission comes out on a transmission jack and goes to the rebuild bench. We take it all the way apart: drums, planetaries, valve body, pump, and every clutch pack.
The case and hard parts are cleaned and inspected for wear, heat damage, and cracks. This tells us why the unit failed, so the same failure doesn’t happen again.
Every rebuild gets new frictions, steels where needed, seals, gaskets, and filters, plus updated parts for that unit’s known weak spots. Hard parts are replaced when inspection calls for it.
During assembly we air-check clutch packs and circuits to confirm they apply and hold. It takes extra time, and it’s how we avoid pulling the unit back out a week later.
The rebuilt unit goes back in with fresh fluid. Then we road-test through every gear and check for leaks. Sometimes we ask you to bring it back for a quick re-check, too.
You choose. We’ll explain the trade-offs for your vehicle and budget.
Tell us what your vehicle is doing and we’ll take it from there. The request takes a couple of minutes, or call and talk to the shop directly. Se habla español.
